St Monica’s said farewell to a special member of staff this week.
Margaret Camilleri has been our school secretary since September 1978, when she was employed as a temporary staff member. During her time at St Monica’s Margaret has worked under five principals and two acting principals. She has seen two parish priests minister to the people of St Monica’s Parish. Margaret has seen the advent of State funding and greater Federal Funding; she has been part of the move from paper records to electronic records and the introduction of computers, the internet and the ‘Cloud.’ Along the way she has raised a family and become the proud and doting Grandma to six grandchildren. Margaret’s contribution to St Monica’s has been immense – not the least because she does the pays each fortnight!!! So it is with mixed feelings of sadness and celebration that we farewelled Margaret and wish her a wonderful retirement and thanking her for her service and support over the past 40 years.
